Winery Visits
Those who arrive at La Fusina for the first time often return. They return for the hospitality, of course, but above all for certain wines that become a true point of reference during tastings.
What strikes those who arrive at La Fusina most is, first of all, the place. The road ends in our courtyard.
Beyond there is nothing but vineyards. We are completely immersed in the landscape: all around only hills, rows of vines and silence. It’s a sensation that surprises many guests, especially those arriving from the city, accustomed to enclosed spaces and different rhythms. Here time naturally slows down.
We open the doors of our winery to an Italian and international audience, telling who we are, without filters, because we believe that wine is first of all this: story, relationship and sharing.
During visits we focus on the wines that best tell our identity, those that carry with them the history of our family and the richness of the Langhe hills.
Feeling at home, not in a tasting room
Our tasting room is the space where we live, where we cook with the wood stove lit during the cold months. It’s a real place, everyday, shared.
Many children who come to visit us with their parents see chickens scratching in the courtyard for the first time. This also contributes to creating an authentic, simple experience, far from more touristy models.
The experience at La Fusina is simple, authentic, never standard.
Welcoming and accompanying guests is always a family member. In most cases it’s me or my brother, but during certain times of the year it’s our mother who takes care of visits.
This makes the story even more special, enriched by anecdotes, memories and firsthand experiences: she represents that image that many foreigners have of Italy:
the classic Italian lady, with her straightforward and sincere way of telling stories.
We don’t rely on external staff, because we believe the experience should be direct, genuine and personal.
We recommend dedicating about two hours to the overall experience. It’s the ideal time to arrive calmly, chat, visit the winery and taste the wines without rushing.
Naturally, the duration can vary: there are those who prefer a shorter experience and those who are happy to stay longer, and it’s always tailored to the guest’s needs.
The visit almost always begins from the winery: we tell our story, explain how we work, answer questions.
Those who wish can take a walk through the vineyards before the tour among barrels and tonneau, thanks to the accessible paths around the property.
The tasting moment
The explanations are never overly technical. They are first of all encounters.
The indoor tasting room can comfortably accommodate about fifteen people, but we also have outdoor spaces and the possibility of organizing tastings directly in the winery, among the barrels.
We have designed different options, created based on the guest’s time and interest, always with the idea of introducing the wines that best represent our territory.
During tastings we tell about our wines and the way we produce them, always leaving room for conversation, sharing and spontaneity. Those who want technical insights find precise answers, but the atmosphere remains relaxed and informal, just as we like it.
We accompany our wines with simple and authentic products, chosen to tell the story of the territory as much as the glass: bread is made by us, salami and cheeses from local producers, often Raschera or small productions from the Murazzano area.
Special experiences and tailored activities
Alongside classic tastings, we are developing more elaborate experiences, connected to the landscape and well-being.
In spring, for example, we hosted corporate team building, with arrival by e-bike, winery visit and final tasting. We are also working on the idea of themed events, such as outdoor yoga sessions followed by a tasting, to be organized on specific dates.
Not fixed experiences, but special occasions, designed for those who want to experience the winery in a different way, immersed in silence, greenery and the rhythms of nature.
Territory
And after the tasting, discovering Dogliani and the Langhe
Our history
Of pre-Roman origin, the town is divided into two distinct historic centers: the Borgo, lively and commercial, nestled in the valley floor along the Rea river, and Dogliani Castello, perched on the hill, which preserves intact the charm of an ancient medieval fortified village.
Culture
Walking through its streets you encounter panoramic views and precious architectural testimonies signed by architect Giovanni Battista Schellino, such as the Church of Saints Quirico and Paolo and the evocative neo-Gothic cemetery, places capable of arousing wonder and mystery.
Vibrancy
Dogliani is also a lively and authentic town, animated by the traditional weekly market and important local fairs linked to wine, agricultural products and gastronomic excellence of the territory, which mark the year and attract visitors from neighboring towns.
Nature
For nature lovers and active tourism enthusiasts, the Municipality offers seven loop itineraries of varying length and difficulty, ideal for exploring the hilly landscape on foot, by bicycle, on horseback and, in the winter season, also with snowshoes.
Strategic location
Thanks to its strategic location, Dogliani also represents an ideal starting point for discovering the Langhe, with charming villages such as Barolo, Monforte d’Alba, Novello, Belvedere Langhe and the city of Alba easily accessible.
