La Fusina was born in Dogliani…<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

…and this area is not just where our wines are produced: it’s home<\/strong>. This is where we were born, raised, and where we live. Our grandparents lived here<\/strong>, our parents live here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re not a transplanted winery: the connection to this place is authentic<\/strong>, daily, natural.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The territory<\/strong> is not an abstract concept to talk about, but something we find every day in our gestures<\/strong>, in our work<\/strong>, and in the way we make wine<\/strong>: it’s a constant, silent presence that enters the wines without needing to be forced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Story<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our story reflects that of many wineries in our area: we’re a classic family-run<\/strong> operation, where every decision, every task in the vineyard<\/a> and cellar, and every choice for the future is shared by the whole family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, in Dogliani, right where the winery is located, grandfather Enrico lived and worked, and before him, his father.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between working the fields<\/strong> and tending livestock<\/strong>, wine was an integral part of daily life. Agriculture was the traditional kind, based on balance and self-sufficiency. <\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

He spoke little Italian and almost only Piedmontese, but he had natural charisma<\/strong> and an extraordinary commercial spirit. In the years when few tourists came to our area, he would stop them in town and between one chat and another convince them to come to the cellar for a glass of wine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everything started from there: word of mouth<\/strong>, children, cousins, friends. Relationships that have been passed down over time and still represent an important part<\/strong> of our story today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1985 my father Luigi found himself having to make a decision<\/strong> that would shape the future of our family and our business: continue with traditional farming or dedicate ourselves to viticulture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The choice was clear. Our winery officially took shape, registered then as Abbona Luigi Enrico<\/strong> where bulk wine sales and the first bottles coexisted. <\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

The origins of the name<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the 1990s<\/strong> the winery changed its name and La Fusina was born, chosen to stand out in an area where the surname Abbona is very common. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the attic, an old map<\/strong> was found, dating back to 1792<\/strong> now displayed in the tasting room, in which the place where the winery stands was indicated as Ca’Fusina<\/strong>, from the name of the family who lived there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That connection is still strong: even today, some descendants come back to us<\/strong> to buy wine, keeping alive a thread of memory, tradition, and belonging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In that document you can recognize the oldest part of the structure<\/strong>, today’s tasting room. On the same map, vineyards are already traced in pencil: clear evidence of a winemaking vocation rooted in time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An ancient connection that still lives today in the memories<\/strong> and in the surrounding places<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

We are long-standing members of FIVI \u2013 Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Being independent winemakers<\/strong> means something simple and clear: following the wine from the vineyard to the bottle, without intermediaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every FIVI bottle is the guarantee<\/strong> that the wine is born, grown, and bottled directly by the producer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within the federation, different realities coexist, each with its own style and story, but all united by the same values of transparency<\/strong>, passion<\/strong>, and responsibility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
